trying find what you believe in...

 I can't help thinking....

If you say something enough times you begin to believe it. When, then, does it become truth? If you honestly believe in something, or someone, despite the "truth," what makes this a lie? Honesty and truth must not be synonymous then. Which would you rather have, the truth, or an honest belief? What does the truth matter if you don't believe it?

Is this why our dreams have so much impact on our awake state of being? Dreams don't always have to make sense, they don't have to follow the conventional rules or even the scientific rules...but there is honesty in dreams. If you wake up and feel different than you did before, isn't there a reason why your brain evoked these pictures or feelings? Are we afraid of dealing with them while we are awake?

If you say something enough times you start to believe it. Do people have to agree with you to make it an accepted truth? If so, why do we put so much effort in trying to always tell the truth- you are just saying what others also accept. As long as what you say is honest to you then how could it be wrong?

In research I have found that polygraph tests are completely obsolete. if the person being tested believes in what they are saying the test shows "truth." When recalling events or asked questions for this test the individual could believe in what they are saying showing a "truth" on the test. For example, if the person in question honestly believes the sky is red, then when asked if the sky is red a "truth" can be achieved. We have known about truth vs. honestly for a while. Believe in what you feel is right, not what "truth" is globally accepted.

I'm not saying to go around preaching that the sky is a rainbow colored or that horses can talk, but I am saying that people with different opinions is how we move forward and progress. If everyone thought the same way where would we be? Let yourself believe.

  1. Hope this doesn't cause mass hysteria but I think "God" is the perfect example. If you say it enough times eventually people will eventually accept it as truth, even if there is no proof. That's my truth, no judging please.

Another great one Gail, keep them coming.
